Insights/Experiences - "Postive energy", Took them 11 months to fix theyre insurance issue , Didn't go to the doctor when he should of
When she mentioned that they decided to have positive energy and not dwell on the fact that he might die I thought of "Tuesday with Morrie" Morrie also had positive energy and a positive mindset but he accepted the fact that he was going to die. He didn't want to avoid the truth. I think avoiding the truth is easier which is why people tend to lie to themselves. Having postie energy towards a tough situation is a way to cope, and not dwelling on the negative things make people feel better.
When she started speaking about the issue with her insurance company I was shocked, if someone else's life is in danger there's no question about money. He should of been allowed to go straight to the doctors and the company should take care of it themselves. Although we cant escape our death I think that he was able to go to the doctors earlier he would of caught the cancer before it became advance and spread. I think in America everyone is considered a dollar sign and not a human being, I also think money shouldn't be the main focus when it comes to someone's life. Life shouldn't have a price tag.
Beth's presentation didn't spark any questions or further thoughts for me, although her story was sad it was beautiful because she stuck by her husband's side until the end. I'm sure when she went on the blind date with him she didn't expect such a strong relationship to blossom. Her being able to speak so openly about the death of her husband shows her strength and proves that people can get through the lost of a loved one.
